This microlot comes from Hugo Agreda and his 1 hectare farm in Aponte. Aponte is very special and unique place. The people of Aponte are of Inga descent, a pre-Colombian indigenous group related to the Incas. The area is located in a misty páramo region at very high altitudes in the Andes environment.

Hugo's farms sits at an impressive 2200 meters above sea level. He processes his coffee using the honey method. Interesting, honey process is the standard way to process coffee in this area. The method involves depulping the coffee, which removes the skin and some fruit, and then drying the coffee with remaining fruit left intact sans fermentation and washing steps.

Honey process can lead to a more fruit forward cup, as it the case with this special single producer lot from an area where single producer microlots are not often seen. .
