Finca Miravalles is a beautiful farm owned by the Duarte family. Miravalles is situated on the slopes of the Apaneca Ilamatepec mountain range in western El Salvador, not far from the Santa Ana volcano. Farm elevation is around 1500 meters above sea level. Luis Duarte and his son, Luis, manage the farm. They have a handful of varietals planted there, such as Bourbon, Tabi, Pacamara, Gesha, and Sampacho.

This is a washed Pacamara lot. Pacamara is a large bean varietal with exceptional cup quality. It is the result of a cross between Pacas (a natural mutation of Bourbon which causes the plants to be smaller) and Maragogype (aka, elephant bean, a natural mutation of Typica which causes the plants to be very large). Created by the Salvadoran Institute of Coffee Research, Pacamara is grown primarily in El Salvador and frequently dominates El Salvador’s Cup of Excellence competition.
