This lot comes from the Duromina cooperative and wash station in southwestern Ethiopia’s Agaro woreda. Farms in the area boast impressive altitudes of 1900-2100 meters above sea level.
Duromina was formed with the help of a non-government organization that coordinated agronomists, managers, and business advisers. This kind of outside expert advice is rare, at least in Africa, and is certainly a big factor in the top tier coffee being produced here.
Southwestern Ethiopia coffee is some of the most coveted in the world. It is, after all, in the forests of southwestern Ethiopia where Arabica coffee is believed to have originated and where a plethora of landrace varietals flourish.
