This coffee comes from the very special Inzá municipality in Colombia’s Cauca Department. Specifically, this lot is made of coffee from 6 different producers around the vereda (village) of Belén. Located in the southwestern part of the country in the Colombian Andes, as one makes their way from La Plata to Inzá the Rio Páez is followed until crossing over a suspension bridge. On the far side is a road that leads to Belén.
Growing altitudes range from 1400 to an impressive 2000 meters above sea level with some producers growing closer to the Rio Páez and some closer to the valley ridge. This lot was made up by tasting coffees from several producers in the area, separating out the ones meeting a certain criteria, and then blending them together. Lots from this area are small with each producer only contributing 1-2 bags to the lot. Producers process their own coffee. We feel fortunate to offer coffee from this special and hard-to-reach place.
